Why is Scan Tip not recognizing some bill amounts?

Scan Tip uses the Vision Framework on iOS 13. Numbers that are unclear or hand-written, may not be recognized. Scan Tip expects the amount to be in the currency format eg. 1,234.56

If an amount is not recognized, tap the keyboard button and type in the amount using the keyboard.

Does Scan Tip send data to the cloud?

Scan Tip’s reading and recognition is on-device only and can be used in Airplane mode.
No personally identifiable information is sent to the cloud. Google Ads and Firebase send statistical and analytical information but no personal information.

How do I remove ads?

Tap on the Settings icon in the top right corner of the app. The Settings dialog has a ‘Remove Ads’ in-app purchase at the bottom which will allow you to purchase ad removal. Once you tap the Remove Ads button, you will be asked to login to your App Store account and complete the transaction.

Do I have to purchase Remove Ads for each of my devices?

In-app purchases are linked to your Apple App Store account. All your devices that use the same App Store account, can remove ads without purchasing Remove Ads again. In the Settings dialog for your other devices, tap ‘Restore Purchase’ and it will remove the ads.
